The Sea

The Sea is a two-player narrative game, describing the cycle of growth, relapse and learning that people with PTSD experience.  The Sea takes the form of dialogue and interaction between the Walker and the Waves, as they try and understand what happened and create a healthy understanding of their trauma.

In game, characters describe what happened and offer possible interpretations of what these scenes mean. This back and forth mirrors the lapping of waves, moving from gentle suggestions to harsh, crashing accusations as the game progresses.

This game does not guarantee a happy or healthy outcome. Relapse is one of the central themes, and The Sea touches on the self-destructive urges that often accompany PTSD. Please consider if this could be unhealthy for you before playing.
